ÑÀÍÄÀÊØÀÒÐÀ:TO THE NEW LIGHT
The journey to become gods began long before man, long before the first
animal or plant; it began with the first spark of life. Guided by
universal laws and forces controlling evolution gradually formed the
creature that will go on to surpass their mythological counterparts. As
we left the last millennium man's greatest mystery looks to have been
answered by one of the earliest answers - 'We join the Gods'. There may
already be gods in the universe but earth will soon begin the transition
from imaginary to reality. God had been created in the mind, and through
mass illusion became a powerful and far reaching force. However, god is
also dead or more accurately not yet born, but through us they will
rise.
As it becomes increasing clear of man's destiny to become gods the path
will also become clearer and our role in the process. Natural evolution
has all but ended for mankind and we're on the verge of taking over with
improving and increased vigour. While becoming gods may be the near end
result, we will have to evolve step by step to the utopian state.
The day we found the blueprint of life our quest to understand it has
been relentless and fruitful. Terrifying the nervous enthralling the
bold, as genetic modification, cloning, engineering all building towards
genetic evolution and progression. Evolution, a process requiring
millions of years completely transformed in a laboratory bringing the
possibilities of all kinds of new creatures but above all a new superior
species of man.
Genetic Evolution, the next step for man. Evolution didn't actually stop
when man was formed, it continued in the favouring of the strong and
intelligent to survive producing offsprings but the modern age medical
advances are now preventing this process by supporting the inferiors. We
are now approaching the stage where we will have the knowledge to take
our species to a more advance level with greater intelligence and
strength, longer lifespan and durability, increased powers and senses.
We could take ourselves to a very definite and distinct difference; it
could be comparable to man and Neanderthal or even man and ape. The
potential of Genetics though highly respected is still very much under
estimated and will change the world in a way rarely anticipated. As well
as creating the next stage for man, animal and plant; there is a similar
offshoot of this particular technology will eventually replace
conventional surgery. Where the DNA will contain the full instructions
to repair, replace and stop when completed, just like an embryo. A virus
should be able to deliver the DNA program, and may it grow a new limb,
eye, reconnect severed nerves and repair damaged organs, replace faulty
heredity genes and adjust anything that did not form properly at birth.
General visions of the future tend to be hi-tech versions of today and
very two-dimensional. One expectation may be rendered obsolete by an
unforeseen idea. It's difficult to see the impact some changes can make,
take the car or aeroplane where the impact is far more than just shorter
journeys over longer distances. Electricity led to an incredible change
in society and to the extent that it marks the beginning of the modern
era. While we're still at the infancy with the new genetic developments,
all we can be certain about is it will be dramatic, immense and the
beginning of a new era.
After the long trend of losing animals and plants through extinction,
the opposite can take place instead; so we can look forward to wonderful
spectacular new creatures and plants. There is a vast range of
potentials here - plants designed to suck pollution out of the
atmosphere maybe also processing the pollution into useful materials
ready for harvesting. Trees could glow in the dark. Animals designed and
given the required intelligence for specific purposes, bird-like
creatures for picking up litter, monkey types for farming and gardening.
The potential for the military is endless, but the most significant will
be soldiers specially created for strength, endurance, and obedience.
Essentially whatever is required/desired shall be made. As we look into
this future it will appear as if we landed on another planet.
A new dawn of superior intelligence beckons, moving on from the
primitive to the truly modern. This pathway is not only persuasive but
will become increasingly necessary as our world population grows. The
continuing growth in population will not be a problem if we're able to
support it and deal with all the complications that follows - pollution,
food/water/energy provision, land space and the human behaviour under
those circumstances. In space the human body faces a constant battle to
avoid disintegration. Lack of gravity deteriorating muscle and bones
plus strong exposure to radiation, not to mention the problems there
will be when colonising new planets. Whether we are enticed or forced
into the evolutionary change, if neither then progress will stop and
soon begins moving backwards. The obstacles caused by the failure to
adapt will vary and the threat of extinction will increase. May it be
disease, nuclear war, pollution/global climate or even the loose threat
of an asteroid. Nature has been ruthless in the past and man will be no
exception. We may naturally gain the knowledge in our present primitive
form, but it will much slower and we may be ignoring important advances
that are beyond our comprehension. If nothing quite as dramatic as
extinction, then almost certainly stagnation and regression: as the
world runs low of natural resources the leap forward will be missed. It
will never be an advantage to prevent greater intelligence.
There will be resistance and plenty of it. At face value we are
relegating the present human race and creating a superior species to
take over - a new favoured elite. While the long-term benefits will be
clear, short-term complications will be obvious and will be exploited by
those who oppose it. Fear of the unknown will worry nearly all of us,
there will be those who recognised this and will have to bear the
responsibility of pushing through the resistance. Progression will
continue and no ignorance or resistance will prevent that. Mass opinions
is easily adjusted, even the most stubborn craves guidance. The
religious arguments, no matter who their gods are the modern age will
continue eroding the psychological influence of mass delusion. Fewer
believers, and the power of the religious groups will diminish. Fear is
a powerful way of manipulation, when removed the ideology has to stand
on it's own strength. Fear is a feature of the vast majority of the
religions, and where it loses that aspect it also loses its hold. Man is
never the best source of the truth, deliberately or unintentionally.
When religion states out its mandate, it's purely man-made; their gods
are far away and have no power until it's moulded into the mind. The
message from their gods can only be delivered by man alone, a flawed
creature despite his best intentions. However once the path to genetic
evolution opens, someone will quickly go down it and at that point the
rest will have to follow. Very few will deliberately want their children
to be at an obvious and distinct disadvantage, also through their
genetically evolved offspring they can at least feel part of the new
world. The transition will never the less be traumatic at the beginning.
Apart from those of the human race who are violently resentful at the
idea, the conversion may be patchy; there may Chinese, Russians,
Europeans and American versions. While all may be superior to humans
there could be different standards. However in the end the transition
period will gradually smooth out. For the original humans life will be
very different, as well as the obvious removal from the top; a new way
of living as the genetically evolved population expands will be alien,
may even be incomprehensible and hard to feel part of. It may be
possible shortly afterward to convert humans into the new advance
species.
The continuing advances in artificial intelligence, suggests at some
point the computer/robotic intelligence will overtake humans. While the
idea of powerful robots pushing aside the humans has been a widely
accepted possibility. It is more likely that as the robots get more
powerful they will become more biological. Essentially it will soon blur
on what's robotic and what's biological; at this stage creating the new
super humans should be well under-way and there will already be a number
of new genetically built creatures.
A new world on earth will be created and focused on moving out to begin
the colonisation of space.
Genetic evolution for man will continue though difficult for us to
envision what the vastly superior humans will design. Several artificial
evolution steps later, the change will be dramatic. Almost certainly the
humanoid shape will disappear; certain features that would be
unimaginable to be without today may be made redundant such as limbs,
eyes, and even lungs. As genetic evolution continues man will eventually
become gods or maybe we'll become devils instead.
GOD IS MAN
