THE FIRST PRINCIPLE OF LUST AND
MAGIK
PRE-FLOOD ERA
Pan, the ancient hermaphrodite god of nature, was believed to be the
divine substance from which the universe evolved.
"The fundamental doctrine of magic (more correctly, magick) is
phallicism. New life is created by the act of generation (the
argument runs): therefore the life force is generated by the sexual
forces, the union of male and female elements. As represented by the
two opposing equilateral triangles...
"The phallic God is therefore hermaphroditic or bi-sexual. The
sexual organs are considered sacred, while the rites and rituals are
designed to liberate the passions and the natural instincts from the
control of (wait for it) reason. The novice must denounce as fraud
the existence of a moral order, together with that of its creator.
This is the exact reverse of what the Bible stands for.
"The creation of the universe (according to the phallic adepts)
is the work of the hermaphrodite god. The universe was not created
but procreated or engendered by him in successive stages. The god
himself is supposed to have been the original and unique emanation
of
the divine substance of which all things are made. In this role the
god is known as Pan, the first principle of nature. Thus man is
placed on a par with his creator: both are divine and immortal; man
therefore creates when he procreates." - 470
Pan/Saturn was (and still is) the pan-theistic, monotheistic god of
the pagans.
"Pan was at one time absolute nature, the ONE and GREAT ALL..." -
487
"In astrology, Pan is one aspect and is also equated with Satan and
with life...in its base aspects." - 48:249
"The modern occultist Kenneth Grant compares the Greek Pan, 'All',
with the Latin 'Omni', the Sanskrit 'Aum', Egyptian 'Amoun',
Hebrew 'Amen', all designations of the Hidden God of the forest, the
Abyss, the deep, underground; any region withdrawn and without the
range waking consciousness." - 337:7
"In fact this [15th Tarot] card represents Pan, the very old Nature-
God of merriment, sensuality, fertility and life-force. Pan has the
appearance of a half-man, half-goat. The goat is related to
Capricorn
and Saturn." - 346
"Pan (Gr.). The nature-god, whence Pantheism; the god of shepherds,
huntsmen, peasants, and dwellers on the land. Homer makes him the
son
of Hermes and Dryope. His name means ALL. He was the inventor of the
Pandaean Pipes; and no nymph who heard their sound could resist the
fascination of the great Pan, his grotesque figure notwithstanding.
Pan is related to the Mendesian goat, only so far as the latter
represents, as a talisman of great occult potency, nature's creative
force. The whole of the Hermetic philosophy is based on nature's
hidden secrets, and as Baphomet was undeniably a Kabbalistic
talisman, so was the name of Pan of great magic efficiency in what
Eliphas Levi would call the 'Conjuration of the Elementals'. There
is
a well-known pious legend which has been current in the Christian
world ever since the day of Tiberias, to the effect that the 'great
god Pan is dead'. But people are greatly mistaken in this; neither
nature nor any of her Forces can ever die. A few of these may be
left
unused, and being forgotten lie dormant for long centuries. But no
sooner are the proper conditions furnished than they awake to act
again with tenfold power." (H.P. Blavatsky, Theosophical Glossary) -
316:246
The Roman god Saturn, called Chronos by the Greeks, was the king of
Atlantis.
"Uranos was deposed from the throne [of Atlantis], and
succeeded
by his son Chronos...
"We have seen Chronos identified with the Atlantic, called by
the
Romans the 'Chronian Sea.' He was known to the Romans under the
name , and ruled over 'a great Saturnian continent' in the Western
ocean." - 635:300-301
OLD TESTAMENT PERIOD
The term 'beast out of the sea' represented one aspect of
Satan/Lucifer as the god of the cosmic sea, whom the Mediterranean
countries worshipped as Pan/Pallas, Saturn or Chronos.
"In the earliest age recalled by the ancients, the planet [Saturn] -
PROTO-PLANET - came forth from the cosmic sea to establish dominion
over the entire world. The planet-god ruled as the solitary central
light, worshipped as the god One - the only god in the beginning." -
93: Back cover
"Sophocles also has Pan as the sea wanderer, roaming the seas, and
the conch shell can replace the pipes in some tales... Is Pan the
archetype of the sign of Capricorn, the Sea-Goat, half-Goat, half
fish." - 313
"Almost uniformly ignored is the connection of the primordial
man-god with the actual planet Saturn - even though it is precisely
the latter that can tell us why the great father appears in both
human and celestial form.
"The overwhelming preoccupation with ancient ritual is with an
ancient 'great god':
1. The myths say that the great god emerged alone from the
cosmic sea as the preeminent power in the heavens. Out of watery
chaos he produced a new order(NO WONDER PEOPLE ARE TOLD THEY COME
FROM POND SCUM). The ancients worshiped him as the creator and the
supreme lord of the Cosmos.
2. This solitary god, according to the legend, founded a
kingdom of unparalleled splendor. He was the divine ancestor of all
earthly rulers, his kingdom the prototype of the just and prosperous
realm. Throughout his reign an unending spring prevailed, the land
produced, and men knew neither labor nor war.
3. In the god-kings towering form the ancients perceived the
Heaven-Man, a primordial giant whose body was the newly organized
Cosmos. The legends often present the figure as the first man
or 'primordial man' whose history personified the struggle of good
and evil.
4. Whether emphasizing the great father's character as
creator,
first king, or Heaven-Man, widespread traditions proclaimed him to
be
the planet Saturn." - 93:6,7
Egypt
"The Egyptians associated the circular serpent with Atum (God of
Time), identifying the serpent with the cosmic waters erupting from
the creator: 'I am the outflow of the Primeval Flood [Gen. 1:1], he
who emerged from the waters,' the serpent announces.
"The water serpent issuing from Atum, constituted an aspect of the
creator, eventually forming a coil around 'himself'...as the band
around the primeval sun...(i.e.,...the belt 's Cosmos)...
"In Sumero-Babylonian imagery, too, a circular serpent - called
the 'rope' of the great god - encloses the original Cosmos. The
serpent-rope is 'the bond of the All' held by Enki or Ninurta
(Saturn)... The Orphics called this serpent this serpent Chronos,
describing it as the bond of the Cosmos... The serpent-bond 'lies
around the Cosmos' proclaimed the Pythagoreans... All ancient
cosmologies that speak of a world encircling serpent say that its
body formed the river or ocean shielding the organized earth from
Chaos.
"Saturn's band was the primeval Cosmos, viewed as the planet god's
own consort, the womb on the cosmic waters... This was the 'earth'
which (the universal creation legend) the great god raised from the
celestial sea. In mythical history it became the ancestral land of
peace and plenty - Adam's paradise.
"That Saturn governed the Golden Age is a supreme tenet of the
ancient mysteries. This is why the most sacred day of the week,
commemorating the primordial era, was dedicated to Saturn. The
Hebrew
Sabbath, the seventh day of the week, was the day , as was the
seventh day of the Babylonian and Phoenician weeks. For the Romans,
the special day was Saturnai Dies, 'Saturn's Day'. This was the
Anglo-
Saxon 'Day of Seater' [Saturn], which...became our Saturday." -
93:164-170,31-2
"As Barbara Walker says, 'One of Egypt's earliest deities was
the...god Set... Palestine was named for the same deity under his
Roman title of Pales, who was sometimes said to be both male and
female and was identified with Vesta as a guardian of flocks and
herds.'" - 338
Palestine
"The goat-Dionysus or Pan was a powerful deity in Palestine
[as]...the Day of Atonement scapegoat...under the name of Azazel.
The
source of the Jordan was a grotto sacred to him as Baal-Gad, the
goat
king..." 406:218
Greece
"It was the Arcadian legacy that was responsible for the mysterious
sea beast - the Bistea Neptunis - as symbolically defined in the
Merovingian ancestry. The relevant sea-lord was King Pallas, a god
of
old Arcadia..." - 29:175
"Pan was the Great God of Arcadia... In Arcadian imagery he was also
Time; Man who fell as Lucifer from the heavens and Saturn, or Satan,
meaning 'adversary' and intelligence... This Pan represents our path
to enlightenment." - 335
"Pan is addressed in the Orphic Litanies as 'the first-begotten
love', or creator incorporated in universal matter, and so forming
the world. He is described as the origin and source of all things,
as
representing matter animated by the divine spirit." - 337
"What the Greeks called the Kronia, celebrating the fortunate era of
Kronos, the Latins termed the Saturnalia, a symbolic renewal of the
reign of...Saturn. Kronos is the Greek name of the same planet." -
93:30
Rome
"Pan is associated with Dionysus who was the chief Greek god
associated with fertility, fruitfulness, vegetation and, of course,
wine (and became the Roman Bacchus), and his rites, the Pan pipes
and
drinking vessel were also his symbols." - 345
"...At Rome...[a] male god of flocks and shepherds Pales was
sometimes spoken of corresponding in some respects to Pan." -
214:600
("Pales")
"Sophocles also has Pan as the sea wanderer, roaming the seas, and
the conch shell can replace the pipes in some tales... Is Pan the
Roman archetype of the sign of Capricorn, the Sea-Goat, half-goat,
half-fish?" - 345
Pan/Chronos/Saturn [Satan] represented the gradual evolution of man
to a state of divinity.
"The symbolical form of Pan was invented so as to suggest the
gradual
transformation and transmutation of nature from the lowest earthly
forms to the highest celestial forms - the highest form of life
being
celestial or angelical man, the Christ man. The highest form
transcends and contains all the lower ones, and hence Pan is pre-
eminently a symbol of Man who, as Adam, was intended to be the Lord
of Nature, and who may still (and is intended to) attain that end.
Pan is the Archetype for the whole evolution and crowning
achievement
of the human soul. In other words, Pan signifies the Spirit of Man,
whilst the Bride (or Truth) represents the human soul in whom Truth
is revealed when 'she' attains perfection and virtuous mastery over
all nature. Bacon reveals that what is now known as the 'Church of
Christ' was once known as the 'Brotherhood of Pan'.
"Pan is also known as Saturn or Satan, meaning the 'Tester'
or 'Adversary'. Properly understood, this signifies Intelligence,
which tests the Spirit to see whether it is good (i.e. God) or not.
This is the function of the mind, or intellect, which is directly
associated with what primarily Man is - a 'thinker'. Through
thinking
man comes to understand and eventually, through thought put into
action, to know truth - to know God. Pan carries the sickle and
hourglass, symbols of death and time, for it is only through the
changing experiences of nature, which we call mortality, that the
human soul is perfected and true knowledge is obtained." - 889:113
CHURCH AGE
In Arthurian lore, the Lord of the Underworld resides in a mythical
Isle of Glass, i.e. aka Glastonbury, alleged location of the Holy
Grail.
"When mist, like sea, surrounds the Tor [of Glastonbury], it rises
from the Levels like a magical island of ancient lore. Indeed in
Celtic times it was known as the Isle of the Dead - the threshold of
the spirit world where wisdom and knowledge were revealed. Its
Celtic
name was Ynys Witrin; it is the faery Isle of Glass where the Lord
of
the Underworld resides. Most famously, legend knows Glastonbury as
the Isle of Avalon. Literally meaning 'The Place of Apples', Avalon
was a legendary paradise associated with the Celtic Otherworld - the
Summerland Annwn. In Romance, Avalon is where Arthur's great sword
Excalibur was forged; it is where Arthur went to heal his wounds and
where his sister Morgan Le Fay had her magical stronghold. The Life
of St Gildas tells of Arthur's deeds at Glastonbury; the abbey's
chronicles know him as a major benefactor of Glastonbury's early
church. Christian legend knows the Vale of Avalon as the place where
Joseph of Arimathea landed with the Holy Grail..." - 831

GREAT TRIBULATION / GOLDEN AGE
The Antichrist will rise out of the sea and claim to be "The One"
Lord over all the earth.
..the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in Me - Jn.14:30
...Ye have heard that Antichrist shall come... - I Jn.2:18-19
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of
the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten
crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy... and the dragon
gave him his power, and his seat [throne], and great authority. -
Rev. 13:1,2
The 'beast out of the sea' will be the incarnation or earthly
representative of the solar god - Satan/Lucifer aka
Pan/Saturn/Hercules - who will become the Christ/Messiah of the
world
church.
"In 1800 [F. de Hardenberg] Novalis published a pamphlet, Europa or
Christianity . This strange young poet, writing under the influence
of Boehme and German pietists such as Count Zinzendorf, prophesied
the future new church confidently. ...[F]or Novalis, the new church,
although founded on Christianity, will move beyond all previous
forms, the historic Christ yielding place to the new Messiah of
Nature, for--under the influence of the romantic philosophy of
nature -- Novalis translates sacramental Christianity into
pantheism." - 256:54
"[Fran?ois] Rabelais thought that Pan was Christ, for 'pan'
means 'all', and Christ is mankind's all... Pan is the Antichrist,
symbol of lust and magic." - 337:5,8
